Why we rely on PIWIs – for the environment, for our customers and for us
Sustainability is not a trend for us, but a responsibility. That’s why we consciously chose PIWI grape varieties back in 2012 – fungus-resistant vines that not only protect our environment, but also offer new, exciting taste experiences.
🍃 For the environment Our PIWI vines require up to 80% less pesticides because they are naturally resistant to fungal diseases such as powdery mildew and downy mildew. This means: protection of soil and water, fewer tractor trips and lower CO₂ emissions and natural, sustainable viticulture.
🍇 Future security for viticulture Climate change brings challenges: rising temperatures, extreme weather events. PIWI varieties are also more resistant to drought and heat – a long-term solution for viticulture of the future.
🍷 For our customers PIWI wines are not only convincing due to their sustainability – they also offer unique aromas.
